The L.A. Rams hosted an NFL Play 60 Field Day for more than 370 White Oak Elementary School students May 10 at the Westlake Village school.
Play 60 Field Days aim to make a positive impact on youth through teaching football skills, emphasizing exercise and reinforcing the importance of character, according to a news release.
The event featured a Character Chat led by Johnathan Franklin, Rams director of social justice and football development, who discussed perseverance, perspective and developing leadership skills.
During the field day, students took part in football-related activities, relay races and a dance station with Rams Cheerleaders.
Rams mascot Rampage and a live DJ were also in attendance to interact with students. All participants received a Rams Play 60 T-shirt and poster.
NFL Play 60 is the league’s national youth health and wellness campaign that launched in 2007 to encourage kids to get physically active for at least 60 minutes a day.
The NFL has supported programs in over 73,000 schools and constructed more than 265 youth fitness zones nationwide.
