2025 NFL draft: Saints had formal combine meeting with Texas WR Isaiah Bond

The New Orleans Saints have had a long offseason process of formal meetings with a wide variety of prospects from the upcoming 2025 NFL draft class. The meetings they have held have not really given any indication as to what position they may select, as they have met with players from nearly every spot on the field at this point.
One position they have begun to focus on is wide receiver, however, and this continues as they recently spoke with Texas Longhorns wideout Isaiah Bond, as was reported by Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston. He also notes that Bond has spoken with 13 teams to this point, and of the teams he mentioned, the Saints are the only NFC South resident of the bunch.

Additionally, only two of the teams he spoke about were from the NFC aside from the Saints, which were the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers. There are also a few contending teams who have had meetings, such as the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, and Los Angeles Chargers (alongside the aforementioned Packers). The teams that have met with him indicate a general consensus on pick range, which is teams with late first-round picks or early second-round picks.
Wilson also discussed the speed of Bond and said that he had the second-highest speed at the NFL scouting combine, at 24.17 miles per hour. It makes sense that the Saints would like to pair him up with Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, as they could really lean into speed among the wide receiver corps to help out their quarterback position.
