Football and music both winners

Beyond the football spectacle this Clásico delivered to the eyes of every Barça fan, over the past weekend both football and music triumphed like never before, leaving us with unforgettable images and milestones. The partnership between FC Barcelona and Spotify reached one of its highest points, truly realising the idea that football and music form an unstoppable, powerful duo. All of this happened thanks to American singer Travis Scott, the protagonist of the Cactus Jack kit collaboration, who flew into Barcelona for an exclusive concert, and then attended the game at the Estadi Olímpic.

Unprecedented success

As is customary around Clásicos, FC Barcelona and Spotify released several clothing lines inspired by the featured artist. This time, not only the home kit but also the away kit (for the first time ever) as well as branded hoodies, T-shirts, and much more sold out faster than ever. By Saturday mid-morning, every item was gone across all Barça sales channels (online and in-store). The frenzy was clear by the long queue of fans lined up before the Spotify Camp Nou Barça Store opened on Saturday, some even camped out overnight.

To build community and reach content creators, Barça also hosted a secret dinner for influencers, giving them an exclusive preview of Travis Scott’s Clásico jersey. That event generated huge buzz on social media and in lifestyle media.

Exclusive show via Spotify

Travis Scott arrived in Barcelona on Friday afternoon to perform a private show on Saturday at Les Tres Xemeneies. It was the first time any artist behind the logo change had given a concert in the city in conjunction with El Clásico, and it was also Scott’s very first Barcelona gig. Around a thousand of his most dedicated fans were invited by Spotify to this unforgettable event that also attracted a gathering of Barça legends, including the injured Koundé and the likes of Henry, Ronaldinho, Kluivert, Davids, Puyol and Piqué, alongside figures from the arts world such as actor and former NFL player Terry Crews.

Passionate supporter at Montjuïc

On Sunday, the first team bus, wrapped for the occasion, drove the players to the Estadi Olímpic. The day before, that same bus toured the city showcasing the Cactus Jack branding against icons like Torre Glòries, the Columbus monument, and Barceloneta with the W Hotel in the background.

During the match, Travis Scott proved one of the most fervent supporters in the stands. Videos and photos of his celebrations went viral on social media, showing his passion for football and Barça’s colours. Scott met club president Joan Laporta in the VIP box and players like Lamine Yamal on the pitch, and was even spotted wearing a Blaugrana Wristband issued by the FC Barcelona Foundation.

This latest Barça–Spotify activation has once again captured global attention and cemented a partnership that’s shaken up the world of sports sponsorship. It’s proven that the union of football and music is not only a perfect platform for artists but also a way to reach new audiences worldwide, drawn to this unique relationship between goals and grooves.
