North Gwinnett (Georgia) wins Day 4 of Brent Key/Corky Kell + Dave Hunter 7-on-7 in ATL

North Gwinnett looks like it’s ready for the challenges of the 2025 season. Tuesday, the Bulldogs, who finished No. 61 last year in the High School Football America 300, national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, won Day 4 of the Brent Key/Corky Kell + Dave Hunter 7-on-7 passing tournament at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

In the championship game, NG beat Langston Hughes, last year’s Georgia 5A runner-up. The Bulldogs beat the Panthers, who finished No. 52 in the nation last year, 27-23. The win capped a perfect 7-0 day for the North Gwinnett, which advanced to the 6A state quarterfinals in 2024.

In addition to beating state runner-up Hughes, NG also knocked-off reigning 4A champ North Oconee in pool play. The Titans finished No. 223 in the nation last year.

North Gwinnett, Langston Hughes and North Oconee were joined by one other HSFA 300 team, No. 110 North Cobb. Hughes beat North Cobb 28-12 in the quarterfinals.

The 2025 season will open with North Gwinnett playing teams that finished last season in the HSFA 300 — No. 50 Douglas County (August 16), No. 129 Colquitt County (August 29)) and No. 101 Mill Creek (September 5). Later in the year, in regional play, the Bulldogs will face No. 155 Norcross.
