We polled the fan base: your bold predictions for 2025 Liberty football

In just a couple short weeks, Liberty’s football team will assemble on the Mountain to begin preseason training camp as the 2025 football schedule continues to inch closer. The Flames are scheduled to open the season on Aug. 30 against Maine.

Just a few days ago, we posted a simple question on our social media channels, asking for your hot take on the 2024 Liberty football season. Here’s a recap of many of your responses:

CFP/UNDEFEATED/CUSA CHAMPS TAKES

“Liberty is left out of the CFP even though they go undefeated.”

“Liberty runs the table and plays Oregon in the first round of the CFP playoff”

“The team has interest in playing football this year unlike last year, & they play for the conference title against WKU. Host of the championship loses.”

“I am guessing maybe 10-2 or 9-3 I think we have more team players this year and less me players. Go Flames.”

“No one has any idea how good they will be because it’s a completely different team from last year, which will continue to be the case year after year until the NCAA system ei ther overhauls the transfer portal or completely collapses within the decade.”

“I hate to say it but I’m feeling 3 or 4 losses. I don’t have the confidence yet that the unit the wins championships is ready to rock this year. By Jesus I hope I am wrong tho. I also have PTSD from our bowl game offensive output so I’m a bit touched from that. Same system minimal production. If the D is solid I see 11 and 2.”

“I’m a Liberty grad, but we have the most unserious FBS football program. No power conference schools scheduled this year, and 2 fcs schools scheduled. If we go undefeated we shouldn’t even be considered for the playoffs because we have stated with our schedule that we don’t think we’re good enough to play against power teams. Until we either schedule power conference non-con games or move to a better conference, we will be a joke of a football program.”
