Jury selection underway in trial for slain Gwinnett County football coach

PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Never in a million years would Venetia and Jeffrey Coleman have ever thought they would be forced to bury their son.
“They not only took him from us, they took him from the world,” said Coleman.
On July 10, 2022, police said Bradley Coleman was putting air in his tire at a QuikTrip gas station in Peachtree Corners when he was shot and killed during an attempted carjacking. David Booker, Josiah Hughley and Miles Collins are facing charges in connection to the murder, and being tried at the same time.
“If he knew them and he knew they wanted that particular car they killed him over, he would have shown them the blueprint. He would have laid it out like ‘Look man, what you need to do is first get a job, save your money,’” said Coleman.
“He was just for everybody. He was for the underdog. He wanted to see everyone do good,” said Jeffery Coleman, father.
Those who knew him say the 29-year-old was a beloved coach in Gwinnett County, and a devoted father, who leaves behind a seven-year-old daughter.
“She said when my daddy was here, I believed I could do anything. She said for those guys to take my daddy away from me, it’s just not fair,” said Venetia Coleman.
Monday morning, jury selection was underway, and the trial will begin shortly after and possibly last for weeks. His family is leaning on their faith, and hoping for a conviction for the accused killers.
“We trusted God from day one. We knew that these individuals that did this to our son were going to be caught,” said Venetia.
The family established the Bradley L. Coleman Legacy Scholarship in their son’s honor. Coleman was also the owner of https://paschercollection.com/ . The Colemans said a percentage of the proceeds will go toward the scholarship fund.
