Emotional family statements after 3 men convicted in murder of Bradley Coleman

A jury convicted Josiah Hughley, Miles Collins, and David Jarrad Booker for the 2022 murder of Bradley Coleman.
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Family members of a man killed at a Gwinnett County gas station in 2022 gave impassioned court statements as to why they wanted the three men found guilty of murder to receive stern sentences.
A jury convicted Josiah Hughley, Miles Collins, and David Jarrad Booker for the 2022 murder of Bradley Coleman. He was pumping air into his tire at a QuikTrip station when prosecutors said three gang members tried to steal his car.

“The trio was attempting to steal Coleman’s Dodge Charger to increase their gang status,” the district attorney’s office said in a news release.
Before the judge sentenced the three men, several of Coleman’s loved ones gave victim impact statements to the court — some marked with anger and grief.
Coleman’s brother said his only brother was taken away from home.
“It’s only the legacy that my brother left that’s stopping me from putting hands and feet on all three of y’all,” he said. “I swear to God. I hate y’all.”
He told the court to “lock them up and throw away the key.”
Coleman’s parents came forward and his mother said her son was a “gentle giant with a heart of gold.” With her husband standing by her side, she tearfully expressed the grief her family has experienced.
“Our son did not deserve it. My son and I did not deserve it. His daughter did not deserve it. His friends and family did not deserve it. His students did not deserve it. His student athletes they did not deserve it,” she said.
Coleman was a former basketball and football coach at Mountain View and Peachtree Ridge high schools. He had recently returned to Louisiana to start a fashion brand and care for his young daughter.
Each of the defendants were found guilty of two counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, hijacking a motor vehicle, 10 counts of violation of Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Judge Tamela Adkins sentenced the three to life in prison without the possibility of parole plus 145 years consecutively.
