Georgia high school football team hires former state champion Adam Clack as head coach
Another coaching change can shake up the Georgia high school football scene as Adam Clack takes over Parkview High School. However, his hiring will become official upon approval by the Gwinnett County Public Schools Board.
As The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Todd Holcomb wrote, Clack will replace Joe Sturdivant, who coached the Panthers for two seasons. Sturdivant will be taking a college football coaching job in South Dakota, leaving the room open for a proven winner in Clack.
The Winder native was responsible for transforming Milton High School into a football powerhouse. In his second season with Milton, Clack led the Eagles to their first-ever state championship via an upset over Colquitt County.
That Georgia high school football Class 7A coronation earned him the 2018 USA Today Georgia Coach of the Year award. Clack led Milton to another state championship appearance in 2021 but lost to Travis Hunter and the Collins Hill Eagles.
Clack left his role at Milton in 2022 to become a defensive assistant for the UNC Charlotte 49ers. In addition to delivering a state title, Clack had a 54-12 record with Milton. His former deputy, Ben Reaves Jr., took over as head coach and sustained Milton’s success.
Under Reaves, the Eagles won back-to-back state championships (2023, 2024) and became the top-ranked school in the Georgia On3 Composite Team Rankings.
Before taking on the Parkview coaching role, Clack was the offensive coordinator of the European League of Football’s Paris Musketeers. He also coached the West Forsyth Wolverines from 2014 to 2016, tallying a 20-12 record.
Adam Clack will take over a Georgia high school football program that finished 3-7 last season. However, the Panthers had a strong finish to their campaign by winning two of their last three games. Clark has some talented players to work with, including running back Brian Stokes and edge rusher Troy Stiggers.
Clack also runs a football academy for coaches looking not only to win games but also to develop future leaders.
