Headstand Celebrations Make NFL Look More Fun Than College

Believe it or not, the NFL actually allowed more fun on Sunday than its collegiate counterpart on Saturday. Incarnate Word’s viral headstand touchdown celebration took the world by storm as Drake London and Amon-Ra St. Brown went completely vertical after finding the end zone.
Where the Cardinals were flagged, the Falcons and Lions were allowed to play on!
This new trend started in Texas when Incarnate Word wide receiver Jalen Walthall caught his 12th touchdown of the year to go up 37-6 over Houston Christian. With the game pretty much out of reach, he celebrated the game-sealing score by literally standing on his head.
Most people think of a headstand in its most simple form, where two hands serve as anchors in a tripod-like manner. This was not that. Walthall snapped his arms at his side and stood only on the top of his helmet while as stiff as a board. It was the funniest touchdown celebration of all-time, without a doubt!
Although the headstand celebration drew a penalty on Saturday, it went extremely viral on social media. NFL players took note.

His execution was not quite as good as Walthall but he did his best.

Just a few hours later, Amon-Ra St. Brown found paydirt in Green Bay. He also stood on his head!

The Lions pass-catcher was rather quick with his roll. St. Brown did not spend a lot of time upside down but he straightened out much better than London.

Neither NFL wide receiver drew a flag for their headstands after Incarnate Word received a 15-yard penalty. This might be the first time — ever — that the pros are allowed to have more fun than the amateurs.
Hopefully this headstand trend explodes over the next few weeks because it is one of the best celebrations in football history on any level. More fun! Less penalties!
