HSFA 300 from Georgia – No. 36 Douglas County takes down No. 53 North Gwinnett
In a game that saw all the points in the first half, No. 36 Douglas County beat No. 53 North Gwinnett in the 34th annual Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons.
DC, which advanced to the 6A state semifinals last year, jumped-out to a 14-0 first quarter lead on Rah’Keith Kelly’s two touchdown runs.
After North Gwinnett, which lost in the 6A quarterfinals last year, closed the gap to 14-7, the Tigers went to the air for the final score of the game.
It’s possible that this could be the first of two matchups this year between these two highly-ranked teams in the High School Football America 300, powered by NFL Play Football. The 2025 Georgia high school football championships will be played in mid-December.
