Preparations are underway for Super Bowl LIX, and while New Orleans will play host to countless parties and events in the week leading up to the big game, only some are wallet friendly.
If you can’t afford a $300 ticket to Shaq’s music festival and you weren’t invited to any A-list parties, there are still free and affordable events around town that offer the chance for celebrity sighting and activities.
Starter x NFL Shop opens

Score exclusive Super Bowl merch from the Starter x NFL Shop, including a satin jacket specially designed with New Orleans in mind. It’s unclear what time the shop opens or how much the clothing could cost.

Tickets start at $20
Fans will get the chance to see Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs players and coaches in their only public appearance before Super Bowl Sunday. The Super Bowl LIX décor will also be previewed.
Fans can expect entertainment inspired by New Orleans culture, appearances and autograph opportunities from NFL legends and team mascots.

Super Bowl Experience

The NFL’s annual family-oriented football festival regularly takes place the week before the Super Bowl. Fans can takes photos with the Vince Lombardi Trophy and Super Bowl rings, get autographs from players and run a 40-yard dash against virtual NFL players on LED screens.

Louisiana Culture Festival

Louisiana culture will be on display at the French Market, with unique booths and activities featuring local Native American tribes and a cultural corner with basket weaving, storytelling, and cooking and dance demonstrations. The festival will also include live performances from jazz and zydeco bands.

The Super Bowl’s first ever host committee parade will be a million dollar Mardi Gras-style second-line procession.
The floats will line up on Elysian Fields Avenue in the Marigny, travel Decatur Street, follow Tchoupitoulas Street to Poydras Street, and head down St. Charles Avenue until St. Joseph Street.
